Milano Design Week
Green Island: Urban Hives 2015, initiative founded by aMAZElab, Art, Culture, Landscape, explores biodiversity in 21st century Europe, through the creative lens of artistic research and display that promotes awareness and eco-friendly practices within the urban context.
Commissioned international artists are invited to create new forms and visions for “Urban Hives”. Projects will be realized as installations and displays included in Milano Design Week 2015, an international cultural expo of exhibitions, events, and activities.
Artists include: Judith Cowan (UK), Atelier Van Lieshout (NL), Lois Weinberger (A), Igor Sovilj (BiH), CRTLzak (ITA), Nadim Karam (LB), Ton Matton (NL), Katia Loher (CH), Simone Berti (ITA), Polonca Lovsin (SVN), Driant Zaneli (AL), BeeCollective (NL), Daniel Gonzales (MEX), Paul Clemence (USA).
Curated by Peter Lewis, Sharjah Art Foundation presents a selection of artists’ works from the online journal /seconds. (2004-2014), which covers a broad range of issues and art practices from different cultural perspectives. Works on display include installations, interactive performance, video, photography and commissioned posters.
The opening will include a unique screening of Judith Cowan’s film, Angelica, and a performance by French artist and singer Fabienne Audéoud.
